FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions is a good source of information. When customers call with questions that another customer has asked, we add it to the FAQ page so others can easily access the information needed to get back to the task at hand. If you don't see what you are looking for here, please take a look at our "Support" page or, you can visit our "Contact" page and drop us a line. Thank you.

Does the Robart website reflect Live Inventory?

We do not. We understand that not all modellers have the ability to go into a local hobby shop and purchase their items so, in an effort to make as much Robart Gear & Accessories available to all modellers, Robart sells direct approximately 3,000 of the 10,000 items we manufacture. Our website shows all these items but due to the constant larger distributor orders we are not able to keep live inventory numbers online. If the item number you are looking at says in stock, this means this item is an item that we sell a lot of and we DO try to keep it in stock but occasionally we do run out. If the item says "OUT OF STOCK", this means that this is only made to order. We do this because we want every modeller to have the opportunity to order exactly what they want but, because it is a very rarely ordered item, we cant manufacture and stock the item knowing it will not only take up shelf space but will also cause price increases due to wasted material and available material for regularly stocked items. If you would like to know if an item is available, please CLICK HERE and use the form to drop us a line. Please include the Robart Item # and quantity of what you need. You can also contact us at 630-584-7616 for additional support.

Example: One pair of Item #150 (Large Rotating Retracts) would be "1 - #150", even though a pair come in a box, since you only need one pair.

How much air pressure do I need in the air system to operate retracts?
Normal operating pressure is between 80 psi. - 110 psi. After checking pressure and gear, if your system is still not working properly you may need more air volume. Adding a larger air tank or a second air tank may cure the issue.

What kind of lubrication do I use in the air system components?
Use white lithium or silicone grease only. Using other oils or types of grease will destroy the “o”-rings in the air system and void the warranty. There are only 2 components of the Air System that will need further lubrication: 1. retract mechanism air cylinder “o”-rings, and 2. air control valve “o”-rings.

Can I buy individual replacement parts for my Robart Retracts or RoboStruts?
Yes, Robart sells replacement parts for all of its products. CLICK HERE for a list of all Robart available Spare Parts. Please note. If you aren't able to locate your spare part, please CLICK HERE to ensure that you have a current list. If you know your part number you can also use the Robart Search Bar located in the top right on every Robart Page. Simply type in the Robart Part number and press enter.

  • Occasionally spare parts are remade and the old spare part number becomes obsolete. The replacement part which can be found on our updated spare parts list will still fit your gear. It was likely redesigned to either accommodate more items or improve with new technology.

  • If you have an older version of our spare parts list, you may have trouble locating it on our website. When searching for  a part, if the list you have contains a dash (-), try omitting the dash and searching again. The dashes have been removed on 99% of our spare parts to eliminate the confusion as some items did contain a dash and others did not. EXAMPLE: CUB-017P should be CUB017P

How do I diagnose an air leak in my air system or retracts?
In our website under “Support”, there is a troubleshooting guide on how to diagnose air leaks. You can also download our troubleshooting PDF here.

How do I send my Robart Retracts, RoboStruts, or Air System Components back for repair?
In our website under “Support”, please fill out the repair form. Print the form and ship it with
your items by either UPS or FedEx, or other track-able shipping methods, to Robart.

* Once a repair request is received, it can take up to an average of 3 weeks pending available parts and materials to make repairs. If you don't receive a phone call or email from us by 3 weeks after delivery, please follow through for an update.

  • We do not repair other manufacturer retracts and accessories.

  • We do not repair actuators. If your actuator is damaged, it must be replaced.

I ordered the wrong item. How do I return product merchandise?
In our website under “Support”, please fill out the return form, print the form and submit the form for an authorization number. Once you receive the authorization #, ship back your items by either UPS or FedEx or other track-able shipping methods. Only products bought directly from Robart may be returned to Robart within 30 days of the purchase date. Products purchased from other merchants should be returned to that location.

Do you know when your order to X hobby shop is shipping?

If you have a standing order from one of our suppliers, you MUST contact them directly. We will not comment on another customers order status.

How do I order a Modification to a Robart Retract or RoboStrut?

Print off the dimension drawing that closely resembles the retract or strut you want modified. Mark up the drawing with your dimensions (using American standards such as inches) and email it, your name, and contact phone number to sales@robart.com.

  • We do not modify other manufacturers gear and accessories.

  • We do not modify degree of retract.

Where are the part numbers on your gear?

Robart doesn't put item numbers on our parts and accessories because they are used in multiple applications. To identify your robart gear or accessory, start with the OEM gear finder and if you dont see the item there, use the aircraft by weight, starting with the weight and working through the filters. All gears and accessories have dimension drawings so you can compare what you have with our items. Once you find the right gear, you can use the spare parts list to locate replacement parts.

How do I edit an item to my existing order.

Due to cost of shipping and return shipping, you must provide an item number to be added. If you do not know the item number, we will help you find it and send you a adjusted sales order to confirm. Robart is not responsible for shipping costs of misidentified items should they need to be returned for exchange or credit.

To add an item to an order, please click here and fill out the form. Thank you.
