  • PHONETIC | Robart Manufacturing

Phonetic Alphabet NATO Phonetic Alphabet The NATO phonetic alphabet is a Spelling Alphabet, a set of words used instead of letters in oral communication (i.e. over the phone or military radio). Each word ("code word") stands for its initial letter (alphabetical "symbol"). The 26 code words in the NATO phonetic alphabet are assigned to the 26 letters of the English alphabet in alphabetical order. Each word is chosen because it CANNOT be confused for any other word when said, hence the reason it is used to help people spell words over phones or radio. It began with the introduction of voice-communication over radio signals. Sometimes you will hear someone use the word "Apple" instead of "Alpha". In the English language alone, there are 43 other words that sound just like apple. out of those 43, over half of them also sound like other words starting with other letters. This is why using the correct Phonetic Alphabet is so important. Robart Customer Service is made up of military veterans, military families and former pilots and we are well versed in this alphabet. Feel free to use the guide below when contacting us and we will do the same. Help get you what you need the first time.

  • How To Navigate The Site | Robart Manufacturing

How to navigate the new site Feel free to scroll though the navigation support page for some quick and easy guides on how to navigate this site. You can also click on any of the links below to jump to a specific section. Additional support can be found under our " SUPPORT " tab which offers Frequently Asked Questions , provides all instructions, dimension drawings and spare parts lists along with some helpful guides we have put together in the 50+ years Robart has been manufacturing premier R/C Gear and Components. Finding the right Department | Using filters | Searching for Spare Parts | Technical Support Site Map find a department Finding the right Robart Department All Robart Product Divisions are broken down within the main navigation links at the top. While some of these divisions do cross such as R/C AIR and APPAREL , each division offers 100% of the items that we sell retail. These links do not change from page to page. Once you have found the correct Robart Division, you have a few options for navigation. Since Robart is known for its Top of the Line RC Retracts, we will use this one as an example. Categories within Each Division The two main ways to search for an item within a Robart Division is "Hover Over" and "All Categories" Hover Over When you take your mouse and hover over a category as show in Diagram 1 , you will see a list of all the categories drop down. From here you can navigate your mouse to the desired category you want to check out and simply click. From here, if you still need assistance, please navigate to the next section. diagram 1 diagram 2 All Categories Another option is to click on the main link of the category you are interested in as shown in Diagram 2 . This will bring up the Master Page for that Category so you can see everything we have to offer in one place as shown in diagram 2.2 diagram 2.2 Usig Filters Using Filters Every Store Page is set up with filters to help you narrow down your search to find the perfect item for your next project. These filters are always on the left hand side and are set up in the manufacturer's suggested order. For example. If Robart doesn't make an OEM gear for your model then you want to find one using the "Retract by Weight" category. All Robart Retracts are designed by weight. Using a lower rated gear wi ll fail. This mean s we highly recommend choosing all the weight classes that your kit fits into. And then from there, you can work your way down. The system will automatically remove any item that doesn't fit within your parameters. You can also click on multiple filters within each section narrowing your search down even more or, opening up more possibilities. These steps are shown below in diagrams 3, 3.2 and 3.3. Note: you can click on any of the images below for a larger view. W hen you are finished just click on the "X" in the top right corner. Diagram 3 On the left hand side you will see all available filters. If you don't see what you are looking for, try playing with the filters other than the weight. Diagram 3.2 First, choose the appropriate weight for your kit. Diagram 3.3 Next you can choose the drive mechanism. If you don't see any results after choosing all your filters, try removing the ones you are willing to compromise on such as electric/pneumatic and see what options are available. Spare Parts Search Spare Parts Search There are several ways to look for spare parts. Product Page, Search Site and Spare Parts List. 1. Every item has its spare parts listed below their product. So, if you know you have item #150, you can simply go to that item in the store, scroll down and all spare parts will be listed under "Spare Parts". 2. In addition to being listed under their product location, under the "SUPPORT" tab there is a listing for all items we sell spare pats for under their Robart Product Number. You can simply click on the appropriate item number, locate the spare part you are looking for, click on that part number and it will take you to that product page. 3. If you know the part number you are looking for, you can use the "Search Site" located in the top right hand side of every page. Simply type in your spare part number and press enter. This will generate all items that contain what you type. Tips when searching If you have an older spare parts list that appears with a dash in it, remove the dash before searching for it. For example. item #145-452A should be type in as 145452A. Sometimes item numbers change but they don't change that much. You can use partial item numbers to search as well. For example. If you have a much older spare parts list that calls for item #145-452P, this very well could have been changed to "A" and then the dash was removed. Searching for item number 145452 will also give you the same results. Using Filters 2.0 for Spare Parts With the industry changing everyday we have upgraded one section on our website, "Spare Parts" . Every modeller has a different style and while one modeller may be building to scale from the factory floor, another may be building from scale from a specific battle and we realize, that this means parts and pieces were scavenged for during those times to get the birds in the air. So, while an oleo may have been one way when it was manufactured, it could very well have changed before the epic battle that won that kit its notoriety. With these different styles it can sometimes be hard to navigate the 1000+ parts that we offer to make that unique one-off that you are going for. So, for this, we designed an in depth spare parts page that allows you to use over 100 filters to achieve your goal with little to no modeling while ensuring everything fits together nicely. • WONT RETRACT/DEPLOY | Robart Manufacturing

Troubleshooting | Retract/Deploy Issues Is your gear not going up or coming down the way it should? Sometimes this can be a result in binding. We have laid out some simple step by step tasks to help you troubleshoot your item and get you back on track. If you don't see what you are looking for here, please take a look at our " Support " page or, you can visit our " Contact " page and drop us a line. Thank you. When I bench test my gear they work great but they wont retract into the plane when I'm in flight? BINDING Binding is one of the most common causes of retracts working during bench testing but not during flight. There are several ways this can happen and we will work through each of them here so you can test your gear. Binding - #1 When you put a tire on a car, you never tighten down the lug nuts in a circle. You always go opposite from the one you tightened last and than cross and opposite and then repeat. The same goes for your retracts. If you tighten down one side more than they other, this will result in the retracts becoming off center and restrict its ability to fully retract in the closed position. Binding - #2 Another form of binding is when the kit is built too tight. When a plane is taking off or landing, there is a wind force that pushes up or down on the wings. Click here for a rendering of this . To simulate this process you can place your kits wings onto two secure surfaces, like THIS . This will help show you if your kit will bind around your retracts, wheels or other areas by pushing up or down simultaneously on the wing tips as if it is actually flying. This technique can be used right side up or upside down depending on the direction of travel you wish to test. Binding - #3 (Electric) When I get a new toy, you can find me playing with it over and over again to see if it works but also, because its new and that's why I got it. With electric retracts, this can actually cause them to bind. Every time you power on your retracts, there is a slight power surge to the system. And although this wont hurt the system, it can cause the retracts to turn ever so slightly. And, sometimes it's so little you cant even see it when you're starring right at it. This can cause the retract to "over-tighten" or bind in its current location. And, since our system is designed to shut off when it hits resistance to help protect itself this type of binding can make your gear appear to be inoperable. You will notice on the back of the actuator there is a jack screw. This is what needs to be loosened to remove the built up pressure. Simply remove the screw holding the front of the actuator in place. Using your hands, unwind the actuator to relieve the built up pressure. Reinstall the screw and you should be back flying in no time. CLICK HERE FOR A VISUAL GUIDE.
